Everything you need to know about making your Pickz, scoring points, meeting fixture deadlines and competing across the season.

This page is the single authoritative reference for the football prediction game rules behind Prem Pickz. It describes the current league-format rules; tournament-style competitions can differ. Free to play, no gambling — just points, leaderboards and bragging rights.

How Pickz works

The whole game in four steps.

The simplest way to predict sport: pick scores, beat deadlines, climb leaderboards. Everything below is just the detail.

1. Predict the fixtures

Call the exact score of every fixture in the gameweek. Your scoreline also decides your result call — home win, draw or away win.

2. Choose a Bonus Team

Your Bonus Team's fixtures pay bonus points all season, home or away. You can change it until the competition locks — and if you haven't picked by then, your first selection stays open and locks once made.

3. Beat each fixture's deadline

Each Pick locks one hour before that fixture kicks off. Edit as often as you like before then.

4. Score as results land

Points are awarded when fixtures finish, feeding the gameweek board, the season board and your private prediction leagues.

Scoring

How points are scored, fixture by fixture.

The rule in one line: one point for the correct result, three for the exact score — more when your Bonus Team is playing.

"Correct result" means your predicted scoreline pointed to the right outcome — home win, draw or away win — even if the exact numbers were different. An exact score is the scoreline on the nose, and it always includes the correct result. This football prediction points system is the same for every player, every fixture, all season.

Bonus Team boost

The team you watch is worth more.

The rule in one line: fixtures involving your Bonus Team pay +2 on a correct result and +5 on an exact score.

Choosing your club

You choose one club as your Bonus Team — and it's always your choice: Pickz never selects one for you, so until you pick a club no boost applies. You're free to change it right up until the competition's lock deadline; after that an existing selection is fixed for the season. Haven't picked by then? You can still make your first selection at any point — it locks the moment you make it.

How the boost applies

Every fixture your club plays — home or away — pays the bonus on top of the standard points: 3 in total for the correct result, 8 in total for the exact score. Over 38 gameweeks of Premier League predictions, that's a real edge.

Randomise & missing Pickz

Randomise helps you start — it never saves for you.

The rule in one line: nothing counts until you press Save, and a fixture without a saved Pick simply scores no points.

How Randomise works

Randomise is optional assistance: it fills the gameweek form with random scorelines for you to review and edit. Nothing is saved until you press Save — Randomise on its own never submits a prediction.

Missing predictions

If a fixture locks without a saved Pick from you, it scores no points — in league play Pickz never fills in missing predictions on your behalf. Save before each fixture's deadline to stay in the hunt.

Deadlines

Every fixture has its own deadline.

The rule in one line: Pickz lock one hour before each individual fixture kicks off.

League-format Pickz lock one hour before that fixture's kick-off — not all at once at the start of the gameweek. You can edit a prediction as many times as you like before its deadline; once it passes, the server rejects any change, so late Pickz never count.

Worked example: if a fixture kicks off at 15:00, that Pick locks at 14:00. A Sunday fixture in the same gameweek stays open until an hour before its own kick-off, even after Saturday's matches have been played.

Season competition

Two ways to win: the week and the year.

The rule in one line: every point you score counts on the gameweek board and the season board at the same time.

Each gameweek is its own prediction-league contest with its own leaderboard, while the same points stack onto the season-long board — so a hot week can crown you gameweek champion even mid-table, and consistency wins the year. See where you stand any time on the leaderboard.

Before the season locks you call the complete final table — one club per position — plus four superlatives: most goals scored, fewest goals scored, most goals conceded and fewest goals conceded. If teams tie for a superlative, every tied team counts as correct. Season-long Pickz lock for everyone at the competition's lock deadline, shown in the app before the campaign gets underway — after that they can't be added or changed. (Your Bonus Team is different: an existing selection locks at the same deadline, but a first-time selection stays open and locks once made.)

The bonuses stack. Call the champion in first place and you earn 3 points for the exact position, +15 for the champion and +5 for a top-four club — 23 points from a single call. Season-long Pickz settle only once the final league table is complete, making the last day the biggest points event of the year.

Postponements & edge cases

Only finished fixtures score.

The rule in one line: if a match doesn't finish, it doesn't score — for anyone.

Postponed, cancelled, suspended or abandoned fixtures don't score while they're unfinished. Points are only ever awarded from fixtures that are played to a finish, so nobody gains or loses simply because the fixture list changed.

Fixture statuses follow the official data feed, and your predictions stay saved — no action needed from you when a match moves.

Private leagues

Your table, your rules.

The rule in one line: create a league, share the invite code, and the table tracks everyone all season.

Creating and joining

Any player can create a private league and is automatically its first member and host. Every league has a unique invite code — friends join by entering the code or following the league's join link, and points come from the same fixtures everyone predicts.

League prizes and stakes

Hosts can record prizes for first, second, third and the wooden spoon, plus optional league rules or stakes for the group. Privately arranged prizes are organised by the league itself — Pickz displays them but doesn't administer them.
