Prediction leagues

Your Prediction League. Your Mates. Your Table.

Spin up a free football prediction league in seconds, share one invite code and settle who really knows their football — every gameweek and across the whole season.

A Pickz prediction league is a private table for your group. Everyone calls the scores on the same fixtures, points land as results come in, and the leaderboard does the arguing for you. It's free to play, no gambling — just points, bragging rights and any prizes your league fancies playing for. Make Your Pickz. Beat Your Mates. Win Prizes.

The basics

What is a prediction league?

A private table where a group predicts football scores and competes for points across a season.

A prediction league — sometimes called a score prediction league or a football prediction league — is a friendly prediction competition built around calling scorelines. Each round you predict the result of every fixture, and you score points based on how close you get. The player with the most points sits top of the table.

It's not fantasy football. There are no transfers, no budgets and no squads to manage — you're simply reading the fixtures and calling the scores. That makes an online prediction league quick to play and easy for anyone in the group to join, whether they watch every match or just enjoy guessing the weekend's results.

With Pickz, that free prediction league runs on the same fixtures and scoring as our headline competition, Prem Pickz, so your private league sits neatly alongside the wider game.

How it works

A prediction league in four steps.

From an empty table to a full-blown grudge match, here's the whole thing.

1. Create your league

Set one up in seconds. You become the host and first member automatically, and your league gets a unique invite code.

2. Invite your mates

Share the invite code or join link in a group chat. Friends join by entering the code — free to play, nothing to install.

3. Predict the fixtures

Everyone calls the exact score of each fixture. Your scoreline also sets your result call: home win, draw or away win.

4. Climb the table

Points land as results come in and feed both the gameweek and season boards. The leaderboard settles every debate.

Create a private league

Start your own private prediction league.

Any player can create one — and you're in charge from the first whistle.

Setting up a private prediction league takes seconds. The moment you create it, you become the league's host and its first member, and Pickz generates a unique invite code just for your group. From there you decide who's in — there's no waiting around for approvals.

As host you can also give your league a bit of personality: record prizes for the top three and the wooden spoon, and add optional stakes or house rules so everyone knows what they're playing for. You'll find creating and managing leagues under your leagues once you're signed in.

Invite players

One code, and the gang's all here.

Every league has its own invite code — sharing it is all it takes.

Share the invite code

Your league's unique invite code drops straight into a group chat. Friends enter the code to join, and they're instantly playing the same fixtures as everyone else — no separate rules, no catching up.

Or send a join link

Prefer a tap-to-join link? Share your league's join link and new members are taken straight in. Players can even join mid-season — they'll simply start scoring from the fixtures they predict.

Leaderboards

Two ways to top the table.

Every point counts on the gameweek board and the season board at the same time.

A Pickz prediction league runs weekly and season-long at once. Each gameweek is its own mini contest, so a red-hot round can crown you gameweek champion even if you're mid-table overall. Meanwhile the same points stack onto the season board, where consistency wins the year.

That mix keeps the prediction competition alive for everyone: a slow start never rules you out of a big week, and a strong week never lets the season leader relax. You can see where you stand any time on the leaderboard.

League prizes

Play for whatever you like.

Hosts can record prizes and stakes so everyone knows what's on the line.

Part of the fun of a private prediction league is deciding what you're playing for. Hosts can record prizes for first, second, third and the wooden spoon, plus optional stakes text — from a round of drinks to a season-ending forfeit for whoever finishes bottom.

Any privately arranged prizes are organised by the league itself: Pickz displays them on your table but doesn't administer them. On top of that, the wider game carries partner-provided platform prizes, so there's always something to chase beyond bragging rights.

Teams & clubs

Give your five-a-side crew or supporters' group a table to argue over between matches.

Playing with a specific crew? We've got tailored guides for a prediction league for friends and an office prediction league — and once you're in one, our prediction league tips will help you compete across the whole season.

Scoring & deadlines

Score points, beat the deadline.

The quick version: one point for the result, three for the exact score — more when your favourite club plays.

You earn 1 point for the correct result — home win, draw or away win — and 3 points for the exact score. Fixtures involving your favourite club pay a bonus on top. Only finished fixtures score, so postponed or abandoned matches never count for anyone.

Each Pick locks one hour before that fixture kicks off, so every fixture has its own deadline. Edit as often as you like before then; late changes are rejected. There's also a season-long contest where you call the final table for even more points.

Why it works

Private leagues keep sport social.

Our whole purpose is to make following sport more social — and a shared table is how.

Watching a match on your own is fun. Watching it with a prediction league on the line is better. A private league turns every fixture into a reason to check the group chat, wind up your mates and defend your spot on the table.

Because it's free to play with no gambling, everyone can pile in without a second thought — the stakes are bragging rights, banter and whatever your league decides to play for. That's what a great prediction competition is really about: giving a group a shared story that runs all season.
