Most prediction league arguments trace back to rules that were never written down. Scoring disputes, late picks, "I definitely predicted that" claims — all avoidable with five minutes of admin before the season starts. Here's a template you can copy, tweak and pin to your group chat.
What Pickz already handles
If your league runs on Pickz, the contentious parts are enforced automatically, the same for everyone:
- Scoring: 1 point for the correct result, 3 points for the exact score, with boosted points (3 and 8) when the fixture involves your favourite club. Full details on the rules page.
- Deadlines: every prediction locks one hour before that fixture kicks off. No late picks, no exceptions, no arguments.

- Amendments: rule changes need a majority vote before ______, never mid-gameweek
Three rules of good rules
- Write them before the first deadline, not after the first dispute.
- Keep them short — ten lines everyone reads beats three pages nobody does.
- Never change scoring mid-season. Traditions can evolve; the points system can't.
